Cookie

Cookies are small text strings that websites visited by the user send to their device (usually the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on the user’s next visit. During the navigation on a website, the user’s device can also receive cookies sent by different sites or web servers (so-called ‘third parties’), which may contain certain elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages on other domains) present on the website the user is visiting. Cookies, which are usually present in users’ browsers in large numbers and sometimes with long-term persistence characteristics, are used for various purposes: performing computer authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information on specific configurations regarding users who access the server, etc. In this regard, and for the purposes of this provision, two macro-categories are identified: ‘technical’ cookies and ‘profiling’ cookies.

a. Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used solely for ‘carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service’ (cf. Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Code). They are not used for additional purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (for example, allowing the user to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, which are treated as technical cookies when used directly by the site owner to collect information, in aggregated form, on the number of users and how they visit the site; functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate based on a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user.

b. Profiling cookies.

Profiling cookies are intended to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the web.

Which cookies are used by this site?

This website uses various types of cookies and related technologies, each of which has a specific function. The site can be browsed by users even without the use of cookies, but the browsing experience may not be optimal. Below is a list of the cookies used and their respective functions.

Navigation and session cookies

Navigation and session cookies ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (for example, displaying content on the device by recognizing the language of the country from which the user is connecting or making purchases through e-commerce systems). Navigation cookies are technical cookies and are therefore necessary for the operation of the site, improving its quality and the browsing experience.

Analytical cookies.

This site uses Google Analytics to collect and process statistical analysis of user navigation methods on the site through a computer or mobile applications, the number of pages visited, or the number of clicks made on a page during site navigation. The information generated about our website is used by our company to create reports on the site’s usage to improve usability, features, interface, and communication.
